"When a family is about to be evicted while its breadwinner is defending our country, well, that's reprehensible."
- R. Lee Ermey

After 11 years in the Marine Corps, Vietnam veteran R. Lee Ermey has enjoyed a very successful career in the entertainment industry. Presently, He's The Gunny, host of The History Channel's hit, "Mail Call," but you may remember him for his great performance as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanly Kubrik's "Full Metal Jacket". R. Lee now serves as the official spokesperson for the VFW Foundation's Unmet Needs Program. After shooting an episode of "Mail Call" in Iraq, he took his own time to visit far-flung military posts to help boost the spirits of homesick GIs. His message? Keep your minds on winning the war and getting home safely, and let Unmet Needs help your families back in the States when there's a need.
